Specialty Show
Yankee Weimaraner Club
Where: Little Rhody Park Foster RI
This year we are back at Vasa Park in Foster, RI hosting a day of two Specialty shows, two Sweepstakes and an Obedience and Rally trial. As you can imagine, this will be a task that requires the cooperation of many individuals. We’d appreciate any and all assistance to once again make this a quality event.
Please keep in mind that the Specialty helps fund most club activities planned throughout the year. Additionally, profits from the Specialty have allowed us to contribute to the AKC Canine Health Foundation, as well as to fight anti-dog legislation which is becoming problematic to the sport of pure bred dogs.
For those who have not experienced a Specialty at Vasa, it is a tree shaded small private park with a great clubhouse and pond which can be fun for the dogs to swim and retrieve. Come join in the fun…It’s a day of quality dogs and an opportunity to meet new friends.

The Yankee Weimaraner Club has been in existence since the 1950's. Initially it was the New England Region of the Weimaraner Club of America and in the early 1960's it became the Yankee Weimaraner Club.
What We Do...and Love Doing It!
The Yankee Weimaraner Club hosts an Independent Specialty Show and Obedience Trial each year as well as two Field Trials and two Hunt Tests. Club meetings are typically bi-monthly and incorporate Fun Field Days, Agility seminars, Obedience seminars and Breed handling seminars.
The Yankee Weimaraner Club has a rescue program for those abandoned and unwanted dogs who's owners do not understand a "Dog is for LIFE, Not Just for Christmas". We rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and then re-home dogs who's families have turned them into the YWC rescue program, their local animal shelter, or just put them out on the street to wander starving and homeless.
If you wish to become the family for one of these dogs, please call or email our rescue coordinators.

IMPORTANT!! For all MA residents - you should know that there is a new house bill (HB5092) that has been proposed that is anti-dog.
(MassFed has info on the website: massfeddogs.org)
All mass residents need to contact members of the Steering, Policy and Scheduling Committee and implore them NOT to send HB5092 to the floor for a vote, but to return the bill to study or back to Joint Municipalities Committee for consideration and public comment. Members of this committee are also listed on the mass fed web site. We should also contact our state representative to urge them to vote against this bill. You can find out who your representative is by plugging in your zip code on the mass fed site.
